I have two GTX 760 graphic cards (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) to be exact. I also have a 2560x1440 monitor coming this Friday which is on it's way. I was wondering if this monitor (http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2711-27-inch-Wid...) to be precise, do I need any special adapters to connect both graphic cards to this monitor, like there is only one dual dvi on the monitor, what type of adapter do I need to connect both of these cards.

I'm assuming that you want to use both of your GTX 760s in SLI.

Attach the display to your topmost graphics card using either a DisplayPort cable or a Dual-Link DVI cable.

Note: Despite what its name may imply, Dual-Link DVI cables do not have two connectors on each end, they have more electrical contacts within each connector. See the wikipedia article on DVI for more information. Dell includes Dual-Link DVI cables with their Ultrasharp monitors, so you do not need to purchase an additional one.

Additionally, your two GTX 760s must be installed in a motherboard which is SLI enabled, and must have an SLI bridge joining them. Lastly, enable SLI in the driver settings.

Yes, I have the asus sabertooth z77 right now with me, I have all the parts available just waiting for the monitor to arrive. So do you mean that I need to connect the Dual-Link DVI from monitor to the any of the cards as they are both the same and only one of them?

Connect it to the top card.

When multiple GPUs are used to render scenes in a game they alternate frames. If two GPUs are used, the first will render frames 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc... and the second will render frames 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, etc... If three are used they will render [0, 3, 6, 9, 12], [1, 4, 7, 10, 13], [2, 5, 8, 11, 14] and so on. The same logic applies to using 4 GPUs as well.

The completed frames from the attached GPU(s) are then copied to the frame buffer on the GPU that the display is attached to, which is normally the top most card as a matter of convention.
