I am trying to associate a URL given to me by Windows Media Services on Windows Server 2008 R2 with a program called Epicor.

The URL links to a video that is being broadcasted. It plays just fine if I take the URL and put it in: Windows Media Player->Open URL. However, Epicor will not allow me to open a URL.

I created a .bat file as follows:
start mms://server/publishingpoint/videoname.wmv. This worked but Epicor will only allow me to run a .bat file from the local pc. In my environment this is not ideal. Any ideas of ways around this? (HTML, JavaScript, etc)

More about : play file bat

Scripted an HTML code, worked freaking great. I'll post the code when I'm around. Doubt anyone will ever be in this situation though.
