So i have i betteryless laptop and i happen to have a UPS just sitting around not being useful so i thought why not use it. As you all know the UPS output cable has three holes (you know for the PSU) BTW labeled N,E,L i dont know why..

Ok, so before i actually tried this i hesitated because i thought something might go wrong. since i had to cancel one electricity wire and maybe i wasnt meant to do that. And now im here for confirmation.. or ridicule..whatever.

I think usually the third pin is a ground plug and is essentially a safety measure, are you knowledgeable/trained in electronics? If not, I would say don't try it, you're asking to blow something up. But, I do not know enough to give you a definitive answer.

it had 3 wires inside, now it only uses 2.. i asked a knowlegable person in electronics before i did it, so im sure about the ground/hot wire thing. neither him nor i know if this can work..
the ups is so the laptop doesnt turn off when the current is cut

what do you think N E L mean? do you have means to test if this is safe? get your knowledgable person to build it and be responsible for your safety when using it, that will tell you if he is comfortable with what you are doing. If he is not comfortable then just because you don't know doesn't make you safe.

you guys, im getting nowhere.. i cant believe no one has tried this before me, this is not exactly rocket science... all i did was turn a 3 pin cable into two for laptop use, because i cant find this cable anywhere to buy, and i need someone with experience to reassure me.
