660 vs. 7850

Solution
If you go with the benchmark used on videocardbenchmark.net you get:

7850: 3707 / 119.99 = 30.89 ?/£
660: 4111 / 143.59 = 28.63 ?/£

So the ATI has a better performance/price. According to that benchmark.

Edit: Someone pointed out the 7870, so let's have fun with that. The cheapest one on scan.co.ok is 155.74, and the benchmark is 4243. So we get 27.24 ?/£. Apparently the faster the card the worse the performance/price ratio. The cheapest geforce titan is 10.29 ?/£.

Thanks, i have literally just found them on pc parts picker and bookmarked them :L btw, i've heard that although physx with the 660, although will 'enhance the gaming experience', will reduce fps in the few physx supporting games, is this true? If so i think that means an AMD card for me...

You can turn physx off if it's lowering your fps.

Usually yes, the GPU has to do more work to do the physx calculations. So unless the GPU is overkill for the game you're playing so it has processing power going to waste, yes physx would lower fps. ATI cards don't support physx so they don't have to worry about it. But like I said, if you're worried about that simply keep physx off.
