will gtx650ti be an overkill for my monitor? it's max res is 1366

no, actually it is the best suitable GPU without overkill but I suggest you get the GTX 650ti BOOST because it is far better than the GTX650ti. I can say that te GTX650ti BOOST is the "768P king". The GTX660 is a little bit overkill for 768P so the boost is the best bet but if you can't afford it, then go for the non-boost. It is still good and will serve you better. :)
