Hi. I have a Radeon HD 7950 Flex w/boost. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202007

I want to add a second 7950 but I have a couple of questions.

1. Do I have to get the same brand/model or can I get a different brand?
2. Would my i7 920 bottleneck two of these cards?
3. Which card should I get? Some of them are on sale right now...

Solution
Any 7950 will crossfire just fine, if they have different clocks, the higher clocked one will downclock to match the other card.

You shouldn't bottleneck with that CPU, it's still pretty good, though even the newer i5's outpace it

Hey thanks for the reply. I was thinking about overclocking this CPU or buying a newer one but I can't do either without changing the OEM motherboard that came with my Alienware. I will probably end up getting a new motherboard and CPU later on but for now I think adding a second card will give me the biggest boost in performance.

Any suggestion on witch brand/model to get? I have the Flex one and I get a stable OC at 1150 on the core and 20% power. I don't touch the voltage. Under load the card is normally around 65-70 degrees but when I raise the core and power like that it reaches 77 after an hour or two of playing. The space for the cards is really tight in this Aurora, one is practically going to sit on top of the other. I've seen videos and pics of dual gpus in the same computer and it was a really tight fit. If my cards are even a little bit thicker they may not fit (maybe) and I'm also concerned about the heat. I may put an extra fan pointed at the cards provided they even fit in there lol.

either way, your top card will be a little choked for air under load, a card that actually pushes air out of the case instead of keeping it inside is always better for cooling. If you're going to xfire, you can hardly avoid the cooling issue though, so if you can get a rear exhausting card and put it on top (they usually only have 1 fan) that might be your best bet.
