I am trying to upgrade my Video card from a Radeon HD 6770 to a Radeon HD 7790... When I swapped out the cards, and tried to turn on my computer, everything turned on... all fans, lights, and HDD. Hell even my external turned on, but for some reason my computer screens stayed black.

I turned off all LED lights in my computer, as to make sure that wasnt the problem and nothing worked. I plugged in the Radeon HD 6770 to make sure that all was fine, and instantly the screens turned on.

I have:
700W power supply
ASUS M5A97
8gig DDR5

Someone mind giving me step by step how I might fix this? Ive never asked for help before, but I also havent built many computers.

Solution
With the old card installed, enter BIOS and the version should be listed on the main screen (EZ mode).
Sorry, for the question, but just to make sure, have you connected both PCIe power cables on the new card?

The 7790 had/has a specific driver, the 6xxx driver won't work so I've been told. For that reason uninstalling the old driver is probably a good idea even if it doesn't solve the immediate problem.

No I haven't. Should I just reboot my computer go into BIOS and see if there is an update for it? I'm surprised I am having this much of a problem with a simple Video card swap.

Haha yes that I did do. The card would turn on, and my screens recognized it, but they never fully turned on.i was told that my motherboard being a pic-e 2 rather than a pic-e 3 could be a problem as well
