Hi all, yesterday i bought a assembled gaming PC,

Core i3 3220
Gigabyte B75M-D3H
Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600MHz
XFX 7790 Core Edition 1GB
Corsair CX430 v2
Seagate 1TB HDD

I installed AMD Catalyst 13.8 beta 2 Driver which is latest for now. I noticed that "when i clicked in Hardware information" it showed connected via PCI express 2.0 @ 102.5GBps".

Then i searched the specification of each hardware above and found out that Intel i3 3220 supports only pcie2.0 http://ark.intel.com/products/65693/Intel-Core-i3-3220-...

Now I am confused that will my Data transfer rate or Performance of my graphics card will decrease due to PCIe2.0 Please let me know ASAP :-( :'(

More about : performance gpu decrease due pcie2 pcie3

Current Graphic Cards don't need higher bandwidth than that of a PCI express 2.0
PCI Express 3.0 on the other hand is more future-proof for newer cards.
At the current state PCI 2.0 from 3.0 can make a difference of max 1%

Actually i have researched this for more than a year before buying this configuration, but still i lacked and made careless mistake in pci3.0 and 2.0. My mother board (have cross fire support) and GPU are fully supporting PCIe3.0 but only CPU messed up with all. :'(  :'(

In short ther not a much performance difference not more than 10% when u put a pci e 3.0 card to pcie 2.0

Pcie 2.0 has bandwidth limit of 5ghz/sec but pci e 3.0 has 8ghz/sec

Latest cards like gtx 760 has 6008mhz(6Ghz/s) memory bandwidth which when put in a pcie 2.0 the memory bandwidth downgrades to 5Ghz/sec

Thus decreasing performance by 5-10%

from what i have read, you have nothing to worry about. even a gtx titan or hd 7950 can run in pcie2.0 slot and has very little affect, performance difference is 1-10% ED.
