Hi
I have a tell landline at my work and I want to transmit it to my home that is around 1 km away from work. I have one ns2 bridge at work connected to dsl modem to another ns2 at home feeding home with internet. I want to have my landline trasmited through the network than I have. What are the hardware I need that has an ethernet and an input phone jack and another one that has an ethernet port and output phone jack

Solution
A little unclear if you are asking how to transmit the voice over the existing internet or you want a wireless solution that will go 1km to connect the locations.

If your goal is to just extend a phone line over the internet then you need a device that has a FXO port and a ethernet port on the side with the phone line and a FXS an ethernet port on the side you are gong to plug the phone it. This is your standard VoIP gateway. Problem is there are many many products on the market and most very cheap ones require a central system to connect to. There are likely some small devices that can do the complete thing but i have only done this with cisco routers that are quite expensive. Note this will likely only carry voice over it...

Unless you buy very special units you cannot run a fax or dialup type modem over this type of phone line.

I have already the network made for internet as u explained I need fxo and fxs but I need a tone at the other end because I want to plug a dsl modem so what the special units?

While it is likely you can get a voice call extended over a network i have never heard of extending the DSL itself over. DSL has huge limitation on distance as it is and i don't know if can even emulate it.

Now if you could leave the DSL modem at the first location you could easily extend the ethernet port on the back side of the DSL modem over a network. This is not really a standard thing to do but is called L2TP. There are a couple of consumer routers that support l2tp bridging.
