670 to 760 sli worth the upgrade?

Hi everyone, I currently own a gtx670 and have been contemplating going for an upgrade, primarily a pair of 760s in sli.

Admittedly I'm somewhat of a max graphics/high fps fiend, but I was wondering if selling my 670 for 300 bucks and throwing it towards a pair of 760 in sli would be worth it? The $250 a piece price tag for those cards is pretty tempting.

I'm also somewhat worried if 2Gb of vram on a 1080p display will be enough to get me through a few years if needed.

If you can actually manage to sell your used 670 at around the current retail price: First of bravo your salesmanship skills are impressive, second you'd probably save a 50 bucks getting two 760. BUT we don't live in a perfect world so this probably wont happen, maybe $200ish.

I think the wiser option would just to buy another 670, it would be the same or slightly better than two 760s anyway

It's worth it if you are playing SLI optimized titles. Otherwise, stick with a single GPU solution like a GTX 780.

P.S.- 2GB of VRam is enough for 1080p, even with 4x AA enabled, and high res textures. Beyond 1080p, go for more VRam. Be warned that adding a second monitor will also tax the VRam, so if you are gaming on more than one monitor, you will need more than 2GB.

If you look at the write up that Tom's Hardware did on the GTX 760, you would see that in pretty much every title, the GTX 670 outperformed the 760. It would definitely make more sense to locate a second 670 instead of swapping for dual 760's.

Again, this is only if you are playing SLI optimized titles. If you are not, I still suggest going with a single GPU solution.
