hi,
i am planning to purchase nvdia gtx 650 ddr5 grafix card
my mother board is asus p8h61-m lx3
will this model mother board support the gtx 650 grafix card or what grafix card i should purchase to build a gaming pc

yes, PCI-e is backward compatible. 3.0 will work on 2.0 mobo.

650 is entry level. What budget do you have?

but the gtx 650 need PCIe 3 and the asus p8h61-m lx3 mother board PCIe 2 are u sure will it work pls answer.... and suggest othr grafix cards in this range my power supply is 450 w

it will work but it will have a little bit less bandwith but the difference between pcie 2 and pcie 3 i fps is so tiny that you can not see it even with fraps on

most 3.0 cards don't come close to saturating the bandwidth of a 2.0 link.

for a decent gaming experience, I would suggest a 65ti Boost/660ti/760 they are very good value and performance. Whichever is cheapest for you, and has the best bundle would be my advice.
The GTX650 and the TI version, although okay cards, will only get you medium settings at best really. YOu need something more powerful to get high quality and good FPS.

what about the other grafix cards (ATI&intel) other than nvidia that i can select for a medium ranged gaming pc

for AMD a good place to start would be a 7790/7850. Forget about Intel. They have nothing that is good. HD Graphics from Intel are for basic computers.

i hve installed grid 2 (cracked) but it crashes after the first race do u have any solution?

well the 7790 will be better than a 650ti, but about equal to a 650ti Boost.

Regarding your problem with the game. I can't help you there. We do not support piracy here on Toms community. You shouldn't be 'cracking' games. Chances are the reason it doesn't work properly is because of a poor crack, and will probably keep crashing. I play Grid 2 too. I purchased it on steam, legitimately. :) It doesn't crash.

final doubt...
if i install gtx 650 (PCIe 3.0) in my mother board asus p8h61-m lx3 (PCIe 2.0) will it work properly ?
can i play games in medium settings ?
u told about the fps issue and band width will it cause the normal gaming or working of grafix card? how can i solve this problem?
will amd 7790 support my asus p8h61-m lx3 mobo?
i am using core i3 processor , win 7 32 bit, 4 gb ram....
will it be an average gaming pc ?

okay - GTX650 (you should get the TI) will work fine in your mobo. It will get you medium settings at 1080p
The FPS/Bandwidth. The 650ti is an entry level card nowadays, but it's still good. With your system it will be a good match.

the 7790 is a good card too, and will work fine with your mobo. Either one of those cards would be good. Your system, with, I3 and 650ti will be a good match. Medium gaming system.

after installing the new gtx 650 do i need to uninstall the current nvidia drivers... if needed how can i uninstall all software drivers form my system what are all the relevent drivers that i needed to install...?( what i meant is installing the new grafix card h/w and switchin on the systm... will it work? how? then how i uninstall the current drivers..... hope u got it ) my current nvidia driver version is 320.14 and card is gt 610 ddr3
what are nvidia whql,beta drivers and what r the uses?

well, you should be able to simply put your card in, start the machine, and it will pick it up. However, I would always do a clean install of the drivers anyway.

To uninstall, go to control panel, click on Programs and Features, locate the Nvidia Display and clickon it to uninstall. You may have to restart the computer. When you restart and get back to the desktop, then locate the 320 driver set and do a fresh install. However, rather than to a standard installation (quick install) click on custom, and then do a clean install (there's a little check box), that will remove all previous versions and then install a fresh version of the driver, and you should be good to go.
