First of all heres my spec:
Motherboard: asus p8z77-v pro
PSU: Coolermaster 1k Watt
GPU: Nvidia geforce 560 se
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
CPU(Old): i5 2500k LGA1155
CPU(New) i7 3770k LGA 1155
BIOS Version: 2003

Heres the deal

I recently bought the i7, i checked if everything was compatible before buying and it was, CPU socket lga 1155 etc etc..

If i swap the i5 with the i7, the "CPU RED LED" on the motherboard stays solid.
Theres an error with the cpu. I thought it was DOA so i asked if i could get a new one and see if that was the problem, and it was not.

The computer boots but theres no post, all fans are working fine, CPU heatsink fan runs perfectly.

If i swap the i5 back in, runs perfectly

What i have done so far:
Clear CMOS
Update/downgrade BIOS
Jumper
Swapped RAM
Swapped PSU

and here is where the problem really is,

my friend and I tried to swap computer parts, he also has an i7.

We have the same setup, same MOBO/RAM/CPU

If he puts my i7 in his computer, it works.
if i use his i7 in my computer, it works.

I tried using his ram and his psu and it did not change anything for my computer using my i7.

I bought the i7 from NCIX, heres the link to the page

I ran out of ideas of what to do to solve the problem, hope you guys can help me out!

This has to be a fit (placement in the socket) problem or something along those lines then --OR-- it could be an issue with something in the BIOS settings like from a previous overclock of the i5.

With the i5 installed, enter the BIOS and make sure you are set to the default speeds for both the CPU and memory. Verify that you are running everything at stock speeds. Once everything is set, make sure to save your BIOS settings. Then shut the system down.

Disconnect all power sources (including the monitor, power cord going into the PSU, and powered speakers). Press the power button to discharge any residual power in motherboard components. Remove the motherboard battery (remember which side goes up in the battery socket).

Now swap the...

Now swap the i5 and i7 CPUs (remove heatsink and clean all surfaces before adding new thermal compound and re-installing the heatsink). Put the battery back in the socket. Reconnect previously removed cables/connections. Try powering up again.
