So I built a computer in June, with a ASUS sabertooth 990FX revision 2. I put my graphics card in the first slot, which says x16, but i want to buy a pcie x1 wireless adapter. The graphics card, however, covers this slot. It is right next to the pcie x1 slot. My motherboard manual says the other slots are x8 or x4, if I put one card into them, so it would be decreased performance? Will I only get x8 performance in another slot, with just one card? Or will it still be x16. I would do that for the pcie x1 wifi adapter. Is it worth it? and are there any better methods for good wireless connectivity from an internal slot? I have 3 pcie x16 slots open, and 1 pci slot, but if i moved the graphics card, the pcie x1 slot would be open. This would be wireless N connectivity. ALL help appreciated. I'm kind of new at computers, so that is why I am asking this.
