Mandiant virus won't allow safe mode, repair or start from disk I downloaded Hitman & another start up disc CD. I get to the Windows Files Loading screen then right back to Hirens Boot CD or Advanced OPTIONS WINDOW. I have Windows 7 but XP works in safe mode. Please help. TKCAL

Try this:
1) reboot your system (log off will not work)
2) IMMEDIATELY start hitting the F8 key over and over and over while your system starts
3) keep hitting the F8 key until you see a text menu.
4) pick 'safe mode without networking'
5) try your anti-virus stuff

if you see the normal 'starting windows' before you get the text menu, go back to step 1.

Thanks for getting back. No I have no problem getting to Safe Mode its getting beyond that. It takes me right back to safe mode or Windows icon endless loop or stuck on Loading Windows Files screen the virus won't allow Widows to start even in safe mode. Its crazy. Have the disk & hit man on flash. Can I do something in Windows XP mini? I can go on line there?
