Building a $2000-$2500 Gaming/Movies/Light Editing PC.
I work with Computers and Electronics so I can order all the
Components at cost so I'm not worried about price.
I Am Deciding between a Haswell Z87 or the intels z77 motherboards.
I could use some help with components to build this masterpiece.
Looking to start off with my 27" Monitor and my 55" TV connected.
With the possibility of hooking up two more monitors
and with haswell being the new thing for gaming Im stuck on
what to go with.

I Have a Thermaltake Chaser MK1 Shell with a WD Green 3TB Hard drive
I would like to fill this up with whatever I can to fit my needs.

For Z77 I was thinking on
MOBO - P8Z77-V-Deluxe
CPU - i5 3570K
GPU - Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 770 x2 SLI
PSU- ***What do you Recommend?***
SSD- Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
RAM- HyperX BLU DDR3 16gb 2x8GB
Cooling- Corsair H100i
Optical- LG 24x Dvd Burner and LG 14x Blu Ray Burner

For the Z87 I was thinking
MOBO- Z87- Gigabyte Z87X UD3H
CPU- i7 4770k
GPU- Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 770 x2 SLI
PSU- ***What do you Recommend?***
SSD- Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
RAM- HyperX BLU DDR3 16gb 2x8GB
Cooling- Dark Rock 2 or Corsai H100i
Optical- LG 24x Dvd Burner and LG 14x Blu Ray Burner

Let me know what you would do different
Thank you

Solution
dont get msi boards and the kingston ram u chose is 1.65v but haswell supports only 1.5v
and get gtx 770 sli its the best

I'd say you should go for Haswell, it's much more recent and offers more expansion options to upgrade your rig in the far future. I recommend you switch that mobo for a Maximus VI Hero or a MSI Z87 GD65. The CPU is perfect. If you can afford 2 780s it would be much better than 770s. SLI'd 780s offer a huge increase over 2 770s. And since they're 3GB, they will do better at handling higher resolutions or three monitors. I recommend anything at or over 850 watts that is from XFX, SeaSonic or Corsair. My personal recommendation, HX850, or if you want to play it extra safe and have enough power for more HDDs, SSDs, and a sound card maybe, HX1050. HX850 will deliver plenty of power, now if you have leftover money, why not go higher than that, right? The SSD is a good choice. The RAM I'm pretty sure is a 1.65V which Haswell CPUs do not support. I recommend you get 8GB or 16GB (8 is enough, but again, the more the better), in dual channel, so 2x4gb or 2x8gb of Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM which runs at 1.5V being the max Haswell can handle. The Corsair H100i is a great cooler and in silent mode will cool great, if you get that cooler, keep it on silent mode because extreme mode will only make a 1 - 3 degree difference and will sound like a jet ready for takeoff.

Also if you can afford 2x770s. Just get a single GTX 780. It has 3GB GDDR5 w/384bit memory bus. It will be more energy efficient, quieter, no SLI problems and it will run all 16 lanes of the PCIe 3.0 lane.

Get the i7. Motherboard, get an ASUS. ASRock is good as well. I like my MSI g45 Z87.

If you can afford better memory. This memory is pretty fast with its tight timings and 1866mhz speed.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231623

As for PSUs, go with Seasonic USA : http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%2050001697&IsNodeId=1&name=SeaSonic%20USA

I'm pretty sure you can use that memory if you enable XMP. Haswell also says 1600mhz max but im running 1866.
Why did you pick 2 optical drives?
By the way That full tower case will be HUGE!
If you get a dual 140mm radiator, make sure the case can support dual 140mm.

Correct me if Im wrong, but don't you have a MSI board Sn1992?
I know you were corrected in a different thread about the new MSI boards being of better quality.

OP, Keep the 256GB 840 Pro.
GTX 780 will be more than enough for 1080p. and saves you $200 + all the noise and power consumption from SLI with a 384bit memory bus.
384x6.008 = 2307.072/8 = 288.384GB/s

Look high end msi boards like g65 are good but low end board is just bad as my msi 785g e53 was it fried up at 3.7ghz overclocked now i got a extreme 4 from asrock and it has far better quality

He told that he wants two drives as in orignal post he added and between drives

And even when he adds another monitor later on he will get better from sli than the gtx 780

David:
Yea I was pretty sure on going Haswell
And Why choose the Maximus VI Hero over the Gigabyte Z87X UD3H?
Haswell supports the 1.6V from what i've read They are selling combos
of Z87 motherboards with hyperx blu ram so I'm guessing it should be ok.
I was originally going to go with the corsair vengeance but I can get the
hyperX blu much cheaper.

sn1992:
Nice build but I still like the corsair h100i over the kraken
and I already have a case and harddrive.

Immaculate:
Yea its a huge but beautiful case, lots of air flow and cable management.
It does support a 120mm radiator on to as well as two back fans and a side panel fan.

I am definitely considering going with SLI gtx 770 but which one
gigabyte or EVGA ive always liked EVGA but Its still a coin toss on which to get.
And I want two optical drives so my main one is used more and the blu ray only
used for blu ray. plus I can use both drives simultaneously to do transferring.

Provided u the best closed loop water cooler
Removed case and harddrive

Maximus hero iv scored just a fraction lower than the ud3h got graphics.
What is so special about the maximus. Is it wifi and bluetooth?

And would corsair 1200w gold be overkill or at least provide a safe zone.

sn1992:
I like the swifttech h220.. nice cooler

1200 watts is overkill for 3 780s in triple SLI and a whole bunch of accessories, if you're going to go for dual SLI, HX750 is far more than enough, heck, if you want to play it EXTRA safe, you can always go for HX850.
