I just bought the ZXR sound card(s) for my new build and started looking at wireless as well as wired headphones, thinking they might have improved from several years ago.

There are some good options, but most use USB connections/hardware and I'm wondering if that will negate anything I gained by buying the sound card as they might bypass it.

Just looking to see if any quality wireless headphone is an option or if I need to stay wired.

this is a sony one:http://store.sony.com/p/Sony-Wireless-Headphones/en/p/MDRRF985RK#specifications

not sure if hp has them or not. Also senheissers are good

Keep in mind you will never get the same audio quality with a wireless headphone, since the wireless headphone has to use its own built in amplifier (its not directly powered by the soundcard in your pc). If you want to get really high-fidelity sound, you need to get a wired headphone.

Ya I went wireless with some turtle beach Xbox ones that were only 150 but looking for more quality here.

Looking at the mx300 as a possible option. I'd like to ultimately have quality sound and something that can look clean or be stored cleanly on my desk when not in use.

Also do you guys know how well the included mic with the ZXR controller would work for gaming if I just bought high end headphones with no mic (gaming specific HP's)
