Hi thanks for reading, this is my system:

Board: MSI P35D3 PLATINUM
VGA: MSI 560TI HAWK
PSU: Ultra X3 ULT40073 600-Watt Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W
MEM: Patriot 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)PDC34G1333LLK
COOLER: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus

as you can see i have the x3 ultra psu which has been loyal to me since 2007 but i would like to know by you guys if its time for me to move on and get an upgrade...since im planning to maybe oc my q6700 to maybe 3.3 and i read my 560ti hawk takes a lot of power. So can you guys help me out here with some good psu? i saw in newegg that "Rosewill CAPSTONE-550 550W Continuous @ 50°C" has really good rating and 70.00 bucks is good? thanks for the responses!

Solution
The Rosewill Capstone-550 is electrically superior to the XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9).

The XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9) is based on an older Seasonic group regulated circuit design for its minor rails and exhibits some crossloading voltage anomalies because of it.

The Rosewill Capstone-550 is based on a more modern DC-to-DC converter circuit for its minor rails and its voltage regulation is extremely stable. Power supply efficiency is also better.

Ultra x3's aren't bad psu's but it is pretty old now. And with 600w you have room for overclocking. I'd try and do some oc'ing and if you're getting alot of issues that don't seem to match up with other peoples experience with that cpu then I'd start to look for a new psu.

Also here's a better brand psu for the same price:

I've heard some capstones are good and some aren't

Yep but the Capstone is $70. It's better than the XFX but not $40 better.
