Hey guys,
i'm just curious about can i mount a Zalman CNPS9700 NT cooler to my A8 X4-5600K processor on this motherboard? I mean where do i know it won't interfere with components from the motherboard? Till now i own only the processor so i can't measure .

No good, It doesn't say it will mount on ANY FM-2 or FM-1 socket.

Intel LGA 1155 / 1156
Intel LGA 1366
Intel 775 Celeron D Pentium 4 Pentium D Core 2 Duo Core 2 Quad Core 2 Extreme
AM3 Phenom II
AM2+ Sempron Athlon 64 Athlon 64 X2 Athlon 64 FX Phenom Phenom II
AM2 Sempron Athlon 64 Athlon 64 X2 Athlon 64 FX
754 Sempron Athlon 64
939 Athlon 64 Athlon 64 X2 Athlon 64 FX Opteron Dual-Core Opteron
940 Athlon 64 FX Opteron Dual-Core Opteron

Note: Customers that purchased coolers before the inclusion of support for socket 1155/1156, can purchase the separately sold ZM-CS5A or ZM-CS5B mounting kit for installation onto socket 1155/1156. The mounting kit ZM-CS4A can be purchased separately for installation onto socket 1366.

it should fit just fine, the only interference you might have is with the ram slut closest to the cpu.

and also, since that motherboard doesnt come with a back plate. if you install the new cooler you might get some pretty bad bowing on the motherboard. my board bowed pretty bad when i put my hyper tx3 on my board. (its also an asrock board)

if you want you can purchase this, it should help keep the motherboard straight and help hold the cooler better.

yeah, my motherboard bowed with the stock cooler and the hyper tx3. i took the retention bracket off another amd motherboard and put it in mine and it kept the board straight.

and since the 9700 nt was discontinued a while back i doubt they would've upgraded the specs to support the new fm1 fm2 socket. BUT i found this, i found the regular 9700 and look whats listed in the compatible sockets.

I agree, I find it hard to believe they excluded FM. Newegg is pretty good with that (specs) & its not there. Just thought I would point that out. Most coolers that universal usually list & fit all sockets except the really old. Maybe tiger direct's listing has it.
