ok. so I recently had the weirdest troubleshoot of my life. I just built a new pc, and I noticed there was this weird high pitched humming when I launched a 3d app like blender or a game like sanctum. I was told it was a wierdly vibrating capacitor. this pissed me off, so naturally I troubleshooted the noise. I stumbled upon a forum page, wich advised that I force vsync on in the nvidia control panel. I was sure this was not going to work, but I was really pissed off and angry, so I did it. wha lah, no more wierd whining! I was and still am astonished! how does adjusting a game setting fix a vibrating capacitor in the powersupply. can anyone inlighten me?

here is the forum page that I read:

Solution
this noise is mostly caused by the gpu, especially during times were frame rates skyrocket (eg. loading screens in games). When you force vsync, it locks your fps to your refresh rate (usually 60fps) so you won't get insane high fps.

And the sound is caused due to "coil whine" or vibrating coils
