Hi I'm in the middle of installing a seasonic m12 750w power supply, I've never installed a psu before does anyone know if the fan faces up towards the motherboard and graphics card? Or just down ? My psu is at the bottom of my case so if I put it with the fan down will that just be stupid?

An instant answer would really be appreciated because I'm right in the middle of installation

Fan faces the back of the case where you have fan grill since it is a medium to exhaust the heat (Hot air). PSU fan does not release heat inside the case at all no matter whether you mount it at top or bottom (Depending on the case).

fan facing inside of case as its an extract.

unless you have a fancy case with a mesh section for both fans on psu.

most psu's are made to be mouted at top of case but can be mounted at either

Personally, I put the PSU intake fan facing the bottom of the case. Let the PSU fan cool the PSU.
And zero chance of anything (screws) falling through the grate into the PSU.

Let the other case fans move the air inside of the case.

Faces down if there's a grill there. Another reason is that you don't want to pull already-warm air into the psu. They aren't designed for that.
