Hi, I want to know what type of PSU to get for my computer. I am currently running a HP Pavilion a6110n, with a factory Asus M2N68-LA mobo. My current PSU is a factory Bestec 250w. I want to upgrade my PSU so I can also upgrade my GPU, and CPU.
I was able to run a nVidia 9400GT before a hardware malfunction. Now I want to get the best bang for my buck for gaming. I want to get best hardware without bottleneck(?)
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the help.

PC-HP Pavilion a6110n
Motherboard- Asus M2N68-LA
PSU- Bestex 250W
CPU- AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400, 2300Mhz
GPU-GeForce 6150 128mb (onboard)
4gigs of ram
OS- Windows Vista 32bit

Solution
Hm... maybe the graphic card just failed and its not necessary a psu fault. If it worked ok in the past then its probably not a low power problem.

Anyway this is what I would recommend for a gamer on budget

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M £55
CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core (3.5/4.1GHz) £91
GPU: Sapphire HD 7790 1GB GDDR5 £102
PSU: OCZ OCZ-ZS550W £50

These cost about 300 pounds and you will also need to buy some ram which 8gigs cost somewhere around 50 - 60 pounds.

My humble opinion is do nothing with that pc. Even if you upgrade the cpu, best case scenario you get a 4800 @ 2.5Ghz?.. not worth it. Your PSU cannot handle the 9400GT because the minimum reqs for a PSU from nvidia is 300W. Now.. Why do you want the 9400gt? Do you have it or you are going to buy it? Could you please tell as your budget? But still this looks like a question from 2006 - 2007ish. If you spend lets say 100$ to change the PSU and the GPU... I wouldn't recommend it. I would save up money and buy a newer one. What games are we talking btw?

Thanks for the reply, as to my 9400 gpu, I had it for 4 plus years, and ran newer games on it (on low settings) it recently failed as I kept getting blue screened which is why i switched back to my onboard chip. my budget is pretty modest, which is why I am thinking of slowly building a new rig (for gaming) from ground up. I wanted a new cpu because it was increasingly outdated for gaming which suffered with lag. could you point me in the direction for which cpu, gpu, power supply, and mobo i would need to run the latest games on a frugal budget?
