Buffer overflow on logon

When I boot my acer aspire 1410, there is a continuous beep and then the password field is filled with unknown characters. Does anyone have a clue?

Do you mean the PC beeps immediately after restart, or at the windows login?

Try a new keyboard first. If that doesn't work, remove all but 1 stick of the RAM and try again.

Also, could be a virus.

If it would be the keyboard, I wouldn't be able to write. Right? It stops after a while, then I click OK, get a logon error and re-enter my password. It looks like some file gets executed generating characters before login

Scan for virus, and then look at the startup config in msconfig. Check into any unknown entries, and disable them. Look in the event viewer for clues as well.
