Hi everybody, I'm new in your forum. I decided to go here and tell you my problem for you try to help me. Well, a few months ago my computer works great in games. Need for Speed World, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Hot Wheels Beat That, GTA San Andreas, this type of games run perfectly. But, from nothing, it became slow in games, with lots of lag. I tryed to install other NVIDIA drivers, since the lag problems started a few weeks after I updated the drivers. But it worked nicely with that drivers that weeks! The hard drive of my computer has brocken down, and it take a new hard drive, now it's running Windows 7 (I have Windows Vista before) and everyting that was in computer's memory was deleted. I think maybe it was the lag problem, until I tryed to play Need for Speed World. The lag was still in the computer! I asked to the man who fixed my computer and he said the video card was working fine (in internet says a damaged video card can make lag). Well, the computer works fine with internet, videos, music, all the other things that are not games demanding (I'm portuguese, I don't know if it's the right word), because with the PS1 emulator games works fine, or with Midtown Madness 2. Some informations about my computer: its a Acer Extensa (laptop), with a Pentium dual core cpu processator, directx 11, and the video card is a geforce g105.

Well, now I think on that, when the lag started there were some really hot days, and the computer was really hot. But it was some time ago and the lag is still here, but the computer is not hot. I even tryed play this games just when I start the computer (when it's totally cold) and the performance in games is a bit less bad but the lag still exists and after 5/10 minutes is bigger. And I remember the laptop is not hot.

Did you update the drivers after the system was re-installed with Win 7? What do the video drivers say they are if you look in Device Manager?
No, I updated the drivers before I re-insatalled with win 7. What happened is:
- The computer with Windows vista and old grafic drivers worked nicely in that games;
- I updated the drivers and the games worked normally,
- I start seeing some lag in the games some weeks after,
- There were some really hot days and the computer was overheat, and it were some terrible lag,
- The hot days passed and the computer didn't overheat anymore, bue the terrible lag was stil there,
- The hard drive was broken and it was replaced with a new one. The windows vistas was replaced for windows 7, and the drivers where updated too. There are not so much lag in the games after that but there's still lag enought to make the games unplayeble.
Well, with this cronological order of the lag historial on my laptop, I think it's more simple than my first post (because of my bad english).
And in the device manager, in the grafic card, it says it's working correctly.

Updating the drivers before instlal Windows won't do you much good. Make sure you have the latest drivers for Windows 7 from the laptop maker not the default ones that Windows has. If the laptop gets too hot, get a cooling base for it. The computer should turn down it's speeds to prevent damage to the chips if it's gets too hot.
