bad Psu or Installing Fault?

so i'm kind of in a bad situation where i installed my brand new components and my corsair hx 750, i then turned it on for a short time just to check if everything was booting up correctly, but after a loud ticking noise which i later found out might to be my front fan in my case that hitted the plastic a bit, there came a loud bang/pop sound and my house fuse box turned off,. i then turned it on again and realised that my psu was dead after trying with the paperclip method and also seeing that my mobo didnt get any power...
i installed the psu with a bit longer screws than the regular but didnt tire it properly,so the screw was almost all the way in but not all the way, i checked in the back of the psu if the screw should hit anything didnt se it hit anything beside the "glass shield thingy that i quess corsair put in it to prevent people screwing things in to long. i then tryed with an old ass psu that had a 24 pin connector and my mobo gets power.

my questions are then following,
can i claim warranty, "already sent it in"
and are my chances god or bad, about my other parts being fryed, "btw didn't have a hdd in my rig only ssd.

Solution
Corsair are good quality power supply unit.
They have lot`s of protection to guard things like your talking about, so it`s a safe bet it saved the rest of your system parts from frying.

By the look of it, one of the screws must of hit a live part inside the Psu.
The outer casing of a Psu is always grounded, so if you have a trip switch setup in your house you can bet it was the case that live went to earth tripping that switch in the fuse box, as it is exactly what should happen when a live current is passed over and down to earth. The trip switch in the fuse box will kick in and cut all mains power on the power ring.

You may be lucky and get a replacement Psu under warranty.
Smaller screws required.

Its your fault for installing the PSU to close to the fan.
Not sure about claiming warranty, but you can send it back in to Corsair to fix it/ send you a new one, then remember not to install it to close to the fan. Either remove the fan and install it somewhere else in your case, or get a bigger case

I didnt mount it close to a fan, i realised that the ticking noise was from a fan in front of my case, the fan hitted a small plastic thing in the front which i cutted of, just fractal that was a little lazy on the small details.

i actually talked with corsair and they almost garranteed me with that if the reseller didn't gave me the warranty, i could turn to them and they would solve, it, the part with me sending it to corsair is never going to be realised i live in denmark to expensive to send it -.- :D

by what i could tell the screw only touched a glass thingy, which i would quess to be a seperater from the outside "ground" and the electrical things inside, but im not sure, also i really only care if about the other parts, do you know what is more likely to fry, isn't it mobo videocard and hdds?

and also thanks your answer gave me a small amount of hope and peace in my soul, also bought a new psu hopes it arrives today, so i can test my rig, do i need to take any preacoutions "spelled" ? other than the f**** screw :D
