I'm trying to build a pc for the first time, so I wanted to get the opinion of others on what they think of the parts I choose. I don't plan on overclocking or CF/SLI.

CPU: Intel core i5-3470
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77 V LE plus
Memory: Kingston Hyper X memory (1600C9D3B1K2/8GX) 2x4 GB
or
G.Skill 1600 (12800CL9D) 2x4 GB
GPU: Asus HD 7770 DC 1GB ddr5
or
EVGA GTX650Ti SC 2GB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1.0 TB SATA

I didn't choose a power supply and case yet since I wanted to pick those last and first wanted to get the opinion of others. So what do you think?

I recommend the CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced Case, I own that :D
Also get the Intel Core i5-3570, only a few bucks more then the 3470.
AMD=7970 OR 7870 (I have the Asus MATRIX HD7970 Platinum incase that matters)
Nvidia= 770 OR 760 OR 780 (If you can afford it)

I recommend the EVGA Supernova Nex750B. Its 80Plus Bronze and 100 Bucks and will future proof for future upgrades.

For a power supply look at Seasonic or Corsair. Specifically a Seasonic X-series or a Corsair HX series.

A note on the memory/ram, get the low profile stuff so you don't have cpu cooler fitment issues if you decide to use an after market cooler down the road.

For graphics card, just get the highest performing one you can afford when you buy your build.

For cases, look at NZXT, Corsair (I like the new Carbide Air 540), Cool Master, and Antec and see what you like. Factor in where you are going to put your case, is space an issue? Will it fit where you plan on putting it?

I see you don't have an after market cpu cooler. If you want one I would suggest a CM 212 EVo
or a Noctua NH-U14S http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=82802&vpn=NH-U14S&manu...
or Noctua NH-U12P SE2 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=42819&vpn=NH-U12P%20SE...

no you wont need a cpu cooler if your not overclocking, but it will be quieter but its not needed

No you don't need an after market cooler if not overclocking. But if you want your cpu to run cooler and last longer, it is something you should consider it since the stock Intel heat sink just barely does the job, it will run 40C+ at Idle and 60C+ at load i bet.
