Need Help with PC to TV HDMI

Okay, so I recently bought a new GPU, which had HDMI support, and I decided to try it out. I use my TV as a monitor, and I thought it would work great. Well, when I did so, the screen appears a lot brighter than normal, and text is hard to read. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thanks.

-The native resolution to my TV is 1366x768
-My GPU is the Sapphire HD 7770 GHz Edition 1 GB

On the back of the TV there should be a PC connection. What model TV? If all that is right then you need to go into your display settings on your PC. Start, control panel, display, change display settings. Hope this helps...

I don't know what to mess around with in there, and I don't want to break anything.

I'm using the HDMI connection, not the VGA. I've also tried messing around with everything in the display settings.

I know you using HDMI, newer displays have a HDMI labeled for PC use.

I do not have a HDMI PC input.
