I am building my first gaming computer and I plan on getting a Samsung 120GB Pro SSD and my question is should I spend the extra on a Caviar Black or just get WD blue HD for storing music, pictures, etc.

Solution
a 20 GB SSD will not hold Windows

Hard disk space - Win 7 (64-bit) = 20 GB
Hard disk space - Win 8 (64-bit) = 20 GB

A 20 GB SSD would have about 18.7 GB of storage..... and the average Windows user's boot drive is at about 100 GB within 6 months.

Go B I G !

I wont put an SSD ins a box Im building unless they put in at least 120 GB .... cuz otherwise I find it sitting on my dining room table in 6 months with a note on it saying they have no room :)

Oh.... and BTW

get the Black if ya wnat the 5 year warranty .... get the Seagate 7200.14 if ya want the speed

The Seagate is about 30% faster than the Black

With only a 120GB SSD on a gaming computer, it is almost certain that a lot of your games will be installed to that hard disk. Get the more powerful Western Digital Black.
