So I have both laptops connected to this router (WNDR3300), thing is one laptop only see N connection and other only G connection...what's the deal? it's dual-band. Both laptops have stock adapter software that came with purchase. My laptop has G and I want to connect to N :( no idea what's the problem

In order to connect to a "N" router you need a "N" wireless card, if your laptop only have "G" you'll need a USB "N" adapter, the internal wireless isn't "N" compatible...

PS: 1 of your laptop is "N" wireless and the other is "G" wireless as it's surely older and/or cheaper... Don't worry "G" is still capable of about 30Mbits/s in real life so unless you have a 100Mbits/s internet connection, it's ok...
