Help about ram memory

i have pc with 2gb ddr2 ram memory and i want to add 2gb ram, and i bought one then when i inserted the one i bought i start my pc and then error, no icons no taskbar and explorer.exe stop, then i shut down remove the newly insrted i start again its back in normal.....Help

Motherboard: p5sd2-vm
Procie: pentium d805

The ram im trying to use: kingston 2gb 800mhz

Try resetting the CMOS, insert the new stick in slot 1 and see if it boots OK, if it does then add the old stick, if OKay then you are good, if no joy the the two sticks don't want to play and you may be out of luck, give it a try and let me know

yay it works thank you, the problem it runs perfectly and then the monitor will have no display even though i reconnect it, the led will power off, but the fun is still running
