All of my sources can't seem to ship a GTX 780 anytime, which makes me reluctant to pay 650-700 bucks although i have the cash. Demand is just too high. Is there an ATI option? I see nothing at all about ATI all i see under search is GTX 780 as the card to get.

Solution
AMDs fastest single GPU is the 7970ghz. It's not as fast as the 780 but it's about half the price now.
I'd get a GTX 770 or 7970Ghz and then SLI or Crossfire it up.
GTX 780 is 650 bucks right? You can get a two 770s for $800 or two 7970ghz for even cheaper. Either of those dual-gpu setups should be faster than a Titan.

You could get two GTX 760s for $500, or 4GB models for about what you would pay for the 780. They would be significantly faster than a single 780 and even much faster than a single Titan. Much more value for money, and with much more absolute performance.

also, I have an 850 watt psu so upping SLi/Crossfire setups means I need a better psu which would add a hundred or two to my upgrade, main reason i'm just looking to get a single slot supercard

7990 driver is still in prototype stage.its currently the fastest gpu but has iisues in certain games where dual gpu cm into play. u also need a larger psu to supply the 7990.only prob is the driver for 7990 is still in developement & amd is having crossfire issues on their current stable driver ver 13.4

Beta driver 13.8 is out and is supposedly working wonders in regards to the dual-gpu issues.
I thought an 850watt PSU was enough for two high end cards? I may be wrong though.
I know the 7990 or gtx 690 are supposed to shred the 780 in terms of performance but...
You could add a second 780 later and get more performance than either the 7990 or 690.
Also I'm not sure if it's better to buy a 7990 or two 7970s and CF them. I know two 7970s would be a lot cheaper.

crossfire issues i'm not worried about with this card, the gpu issues yes. the fastest i can seem to get a gts 780 with available payment right now is 3 weeks earliest for shipment. 7990 i could get within a couple weeks at my door, so it a bit tempting. making the 780 around 1.5 months earliest dilivery, but again i assume it only has that much demand for a reason

also to your responce Pav, and I thank you. I don;t want CF or SLI again, So many games just don't use it. Friends [c's I play on with a single high end card blow CF/SLI away usually. So I want to see my own system with a high end single slot card. So Sinle slot is my goal.

The 780 has only been out for about a month. It's the second fastest single gpu behind the titan and all the charts i've seen on performance between the two show the 780 holding it's own against the titan. Like 5fps behind in most cases.

not really ready to wait, was planning on ordering within a few days, been nearing two years since i upgraded. was saving cash for a new gprahics card had about 200 bucks, won 500 on a scratcher tonight. i was going to consider the upgrade free before i find other ways to spend it.

So you can get the 780 for around 650 bucks and get near Titan performance on a single card.
If you want to spend less consider the 770. Most charts I've seen show it not far behind the 780.
The 7970ghz is also an option. It's roughly as fast as the 770 and cheaper.
The 3 cards listed are the fastest single gpus right now besides the Titan.
