So I currently have a Lenovo Y570 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Intel Core i7 2670QM(2.20GHz)
8GB Memory DDR3 1333
750GB 5400RPM HDD + 64GB SSD HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M

I'm considering building a desktop system like
PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1ltKK

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I'm wondering how much better that will be compared to my laptop? Would it not be much of a step up and should I just save the money till next year and build a desktop then?
I'll mainly be playing GW2, LoL, and SC2

Solution

In terms of gaming it has 3-4 times the gaming performance of that laptop.
