its kind of hassle to find the best harddrive within my budget by using google because some reviews had rated a product good and some reviews had rated the same product as worst ..

so its bit of confusing for a newbie like me ..

so suggest me a good drive (with least or no failure rates) ...

seagate barracuda has some negative reviews mentioning crash of the drive within months .. so i hesitate to buy that one .

and i like to have more choices

Believe me, there is nothing wrong with that HDD. The reason why the hard drives of people in India fails because they usually put the HDD in cheap cases from Iball, Intex and other rubbish companies which do not have proper airflow inside and do not have correct placement for HDD. So, the HDD usually overheat and hence they die very soon. Also the high temperatures in India is a contributing factor.

To ensure that your parts do not die you need to have a good case that has good airflow. And believe me, both Seagate Barracuda and WD Caviar Blue are good and fast hard drives.

If you want more reliability then you can get the slower but long lasting WD Caviar green. It is also available for around that price. But believe me there is nothing wrong with the WD Blue or the Seagate Barracuda, both are good drives. So just get the cheaper WD Blue drive.

Link to WD Caviar Green if you prefer longetivity and can compromise for a slower drive : http://www.flipkart.com/wd-caviar-green-1-tb-desktop-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezrx/p/itmd4tzf3zntagmh?pid=IHDD4TZEXNJPSBZ8&ref=26fff8da-fdd0-4f40-bf6f-d7c51a02a6cc
