i want to buy for my system a new power supply and i have a question : my old power supply was with 4 pin atx connector and it worked , even the manual says is ok to use 4 pin connector ( on this motherboard with 8 pin provider ).

My old power supply doesn't work anymore and i want to buy a new one. I find a new power supply with 4 pin atx connector and i want to buy it.
Do you think this power supply with 4 pin atx connector is ok on motherboard (asrock fm2a85x extreme4) with 8 pin provider??

i tried looking them up but it looks like those psus arent avalible in the US :/ i would say go with the sirtech or the corsair vs is a decent choice but i would choose something 400w or higher which will leave a little head room to upgrade i dont really trust the inter-tech but it will do for now

btw my old psu was a raidmax400w, it was a very crappy and dangrous psu. for example one review said it shot flames out the back of the computer another said it fried all his componets. but mine which is the same one has worked flawlessly for a few years now and its still great with nnot one problem.

this guide helped me choose a psu little while back.

well it depends on which cpu you are using? if it is an A4 and A6 the 4 pin should be fine, but if it is an A8 or A10 the go with the 8 pin. what was your old psu? and which psu do you currently have in mind?

Where do you live and what's your budget? I'll try and find you something. I live in the US and picked up a thermal take 430w psu on sale for 30$. It is a really good psu even has 8 pin. But for your build you may be fine with out one ^_^

I think i will buy another psu. I don't trust that inter-tech. I was thinking at Corsair VS Series VS350 350w or Sirtec - High Power Element PLUS 400W. What do you think ? Is ok for my system ?? 3 4 months later maybe i will buy a low end or mid gpu . Corsair 350w or Sirtec 400W are ok for that system ?
