Hello, i just bought new computer and it don't shows me any view when I trying to connect it with VGA cable. I'm using VGA-DVI adapter. When connecting with adapter, it shows me everything, but I can't make my monitor's native resolution which is 1440x900. Any help?
My GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 660

Btw, computer shows, that my display is Generic Non-PnP Monitor.

Solution
Right click desktop.
click Nvidia control panel.
Left hand side ,Display-change resolution
At the bottom -Customize
Bottom left - Create Custom resolution.
At the top enter 1440x900- 60 hz 32bit color depth and progressive.
At the bottom left is a small box with an arrow labeled Timing. Click this and the timings section will drop down.
It is automatically set to Automatic.
Try the different timing modes one at a time and then click test.
If the display looks good Click yes in the pop up box. If it is garbled or blank screen wait 15 seconds for windows to go back to the old settings.

Once you find one that is right and click ok windows may revert to 640x480 8bit. Which will look terrible.
Close out of control panel.
Right click on...
I had a similar problem under Win7 with a Viewsonic VX922. VGA and DVI would set it to 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024.
My work around was to go to the Nvidia control panel and create and set a custom resolution.
Look at your monitor specs and create a custom resolution using those specs.

Right click desktop.
click Nvidia control panel.
