Hello!

I7-3930
PNY GTX295
Sabertooth X79
Windows 7-32 bit (later will be 64-bit)

Help me, please, to connect my HDD and DVD drives to Sabertooth X79.
I have four internal WD Black, a couple years old HDD's (one of them is system drive) - no RAID and two internal DVD drives: DVD read (going to replace wth BD+RW later) and DVD+RW. Also thinking about adding SSD drive next year. N

There are 2 brown, 4 black and 2 grey USB connectors. Which way is more efficient to connect all this staff?

P.S. And also any recommendations for 4x4GB 1866Mhz memory kit?

Solution

SATA, not USB.

The grey and brown ports are SATA III, so you want to plug in the WD Blacks into those. Or maybe the system drive in one, and another Black in a black port.

The rest go in the black SATA ports.

It would help to know the make and model of the other HDDs, though.

You won't be able to add on anymore unless you get a PCIe SATA card or something.

Sorry for mistake!
two drives are WD Caviar Black, 2-3 years old, one is WD Black 300mb also 2 years old, and one WD Black 3tb is one year old. They are installed already so it's hard to see exact model number.
