Basically I got fed up of seeing all there custom build PC sites out there that build all these pre-made computers but skimp on what i consider important parts or finishing touches like a good motherboard or a decent branded power supply and case. So i have decided to try make my own custom build for £800-£1000 range and sell them with a 20% margain but i want put the little things in that gamers care about like a real overclock with real settings and realistic voltages as well real cases and good motherboards.

So here is my question i have made a build i think gamers would like and i was hopping you guys would all a have look see if there builds apeall to your overclocking or gamer sides if any small touches can be made that you can think of with raising price too much i shall add them

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1q1LD

Bear mind this is possible business venture by a gamer and PC nut for fellow gamers and PC nuts so you will see flawless overclocked tailored for each build and flawless cable management. These builds are also aimed at gamers who will pay for builds that work with a fairly large budget i was thinking between £800-£1000 with our 20% also we will tailor to need like different graphics cards and fan colour preferences and such

I hope to get some good feedback about my parts choices from all and thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

id say intel is a little better but that doesnt make amd bad. id say the amd builds would just be a good performer at a lesser price. you see people on here all the time going for amd just because there trying to make a budget build...anyways just something to keep in mind.

that is a good build. i think you should do some other builds at different price points to give your future customers some options to choose from. or make amd equivalents of your Intel builds in case some people prefer amd

Honestly, this is hopeless. The reason those companies stay in business is because they can buy the parts at LOW wholesale prices. You will never be able to sell these systems for a profit. You can't offer a warranty like these companies do.

Take that build you just made. Go to ibuypower or Cyberpower and put the same specs in including windows and see how much it costs.

Well I should mentioned that will be able to apply for trade account as this part venture with dad who has IT company already but does programming and althouht will over a some form of warranty it is true we cant replace the parts unless are faulty in which we will return and send you a new part.

The main idea for this is to do something for gamers with alll extra love as alot of builds out there lack in some sense and all of these builds are up for customization via email with real people and eventually via a website with pc builder opition.

Also I hope appeal is that we will give 100 percent community to use your are fellow gamers and prized customer not consumers :)

I shall bear in mind maybe later do some AMD builds althought atm AMD does seem lack the raw power of intel

Although I do agree dual channel ram would be better I dont agree with you 3rd gen statement as haswell are powerful but they exspensive still atm and slightly worse overclockers then ivy bridge so i just went with what i know and trust :) but we all have our preferences. That said i may produce a haswell variety at a later date

I shall :), I will likely build 1 later although the purpose this build was for to lean towards gaming power rather then budget without going too insane but this is idea that can easily be refined

I looked at starting my own shop but after doing the math I figured I would need to sell about 300 systems a month to stay competitive and turn a profit. I'm still thinking of doing it but I'm thinking of gearing my shop more toward home theater computers and equipment rather than gaming rigs.

Yeah if I started my own shop I'd probably be at least running it out of my parent's garage for the first year or two in business.

Hehe indeed althought may aim not to make money but to just break even more for the sake or doing it can easily work around my job so its just trying to give peopel want they want so bored of looking sites with £1200 computerbuilds and they skimp on the motherboard or powersupply and such xD

Here in the US an £1200 would run about $1860 ( :ouch: ). I would never pay that much for a rig and then pair it with some cheap no name power supply. That would be like buying a $100,000 Nissan GT-R and putting $5 spark plugs from Pep Boys in the car.

One question. How are you going to be better than your competitors?
Now it seems that you are a long way behind.

i hope to better them the competition by only aiming to break even not make a profit and by using frienldy and engaging communication system so people get watn really want not just preset boxes also i am not aiming to out due competitiors just share something i love with other people :) also in that link there power supply, case and motherboard are lack luster one thing i will offer is i will only pick trust worthy excepitional parts for examples i would put not less then corsair 600wtt power supply or 650 and get full tower case for further exansion.

obvouisly not everyone will veiw worthwhile to me those extra parts are worth the money and the attention at some ppoint i hope pc part picker style site but you can order straight off it and we will build it that would be ideal site pick what you want then we build it
