Use 17 in display for a 18.4 inch laptop?

Hi , i have a toshiba qosmio x505-q8100x laptop with a busted display, i am having hard time finding a 18.4 inch display in my city, is it possible to fit a 17.3 inch display for this laptop?

Via a LOT of DIY, maybe.
You'd have to mount the new 17.3 inside the existing 18.4 lid. Otherwise, all the hinges won't line up.
