Hi everyone, I recently re-installed windows (Vista) as i was having some issues (blue screen of death).

I have tried to update all my drivers and everything seems to be ok apart from my sound card driver. I have a sound blaster X-fi card but my computer can't seem to identify it as such. In device manager under the sound heading there are 5 entries all named High Definition Audio Device. I can hear sound ok out the speakers but i want to update the creative SB drivers as they have extra features in Ableton Live which i want to use again.

Any help would be appreciated as i have tried everything i know.

Thank you

Did you try the included CD with the card to reinstall those drivers and software? If you lost that, then your out of luck for the software, but you can try at SoundBlaster's support website (http://support.creative.com/) and look up the hardware for your OS then download the latest drivers / software for it. Have you attempted this?

Hi Tom, Unfortunately i have lost the driver disc so i did download the drivers for the card and it came up with the following message 'Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program'. I have tried removing the card and re-fitting. i have tried enabling / disabling the on board sound device, i have tried different versions of the driver etc. I do have sound so both the slot/card are working. I just need it installed as the correct device to enable Ableton to work correctly.

Thx again for your time.
