Tried Furmark... after 600 frames and 1 minute my temp gone up to 87 degrees celcius(i Esc'd after the 90 degrees mark as it may damage my GPU beyond that.), and Fan speed is only 50%(What the hell?). I really don't know what's the problem my mobo is a GA-970A-UD3-Rev3.0. Can somebody explain why it gets to 90 degrees without boosting the fans? My case is a CM Force 500.

XFX are notorious for over heating and fan issues. My 2 friends opened up a cyber cafe and bought 10 HD7770's from XFX. 9/10 broke down from over heating and fan related issues. Also the reviews all over newegg are pretty consistent with these issues. If you can Id suggest sending it back for a full refund to go with a better manufacturer. Otherwise you can replace the fan and heat sink with a new after market cooler. As well replace the thermal compound .

Your only options are to A. Replace the fan and heat sink with an aftermarket one that is stronger. Or B. Get an RMA for the card and return it to the supplier under warranty.

But I warn you, many of people went down that road. Sending the card out 3 and even 4 times (my 2 friends included) to no avail. XFX just "tests" the card and deems it fit, then sends it back out. Never buy XFX.

What u say is not 100% true, u should say never buy XFX GPU's, not never buy XFX because the's PSU's are totally fine(use them since 2009, never had any problems.) But my friend has a 7970 Black Edition that runs at max 70 degrees on the FFXIV benchmark(maximum settings, score 12500 :D , i have score 8500). But your answer is right, gonna try RMA the card to my shop first(14 day RMA warranty, got it for 4 days now, need to wait till monday through.)

Consider yourself lucky. Our OP here can not. You don't have to believe me, but if you take a look on Newegg.com at some of the reviews and feedback on practically any XFX GPU worth buying, you'll see a very apparent consistency in the issues. As well, their customer service/ warranty service is deplorable.

Problem fixed, replaced my XFX to a MSI R7870-2GD5T/OC all overheating problems gone. Thank you anthony8989 for the advice of RMA'ing the card as it worked because it was within 14 days of usage. Had to pay 90 cents more for the other one(same shop). My old card is now being sold as defective cooler on the webshop.way less then a new one) I also had support ticketed XFX b4 i RMA'd it and they said it was definitely a defective cooler(or heatsink) and they said to RMA it back to the shop if it is possible or else send it to XFX themself and they would fix the problem(i don't know what they mean with "fixing" it, as some people say they will think it is same card sent back without any modification).. When i have time i'll post furmark scores here on my new card at same preset.
