Hi,
I got a tower computer as a present for my birthday from all of my friends, and I've got it formatted with Windows 7 64 bit and used Driver Reviver to install all my drivers...
The CPU is an AMD A Series Accelerated Processing Unit so it's supposed to work better than a video card I am told?
Anyways, I can't play any games yet because the computer is not recognizing the GPU.
dxdiag is showing this:
Device
Name: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Manufacturer: Standard Display Types
Chip Type: AMD ATOMBIOS
DAC Type: 8 bit
Approx. Total Memory: na/
Current Display Mofe: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (1Hz)
Monitor: Generioc PnP Monitor
DirectX Features
DirectDrawAcceleration: Not Available
Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available
AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available
Drivers
Main Driver: vga
Version: 6.1.7600.16385
Date: 7/13/2009 7:38:47PM
WHQL Logo'd: n/a
DDI Version: unknown
Driver Model: unknown
When I tried installing the Catalyst driver for the AMD A8 660K Quad-Core Processor (That's what the box says) it ruined my Windows install and I had to reformat and reinstall from the beginning. I got a black screen of death.
Any ideas here?
