AMD 8350 or Intel 3570K?

I have the money for the 3570K, but I have no clue as to which one to get! The 8350 has double the cores, but I know games don't utilize all of them.
--I'll be getting the XFX 7970 and here's what I'll be doing: Gaming on BF3 and other graphically intensive games like that. I'll be rendering many videos for an upcoming YouTube channel. I'll be rendering 3D, but not a lot. So that's just an idea of what I'll be doing on here.--
So what processor do I go with? Thanks a lot.

If you do a lot of rendering...rendering can use more cores. In that case 8350 > 3570k. For gaming, the 3570k often times has a slight FPS advantage...though if you record while gaming, the extra cores will make a difference there too and performance will likely suffer less with the 8350.

DONT. If anything the 4670k the 3570k's socket has gone into retirement. The 3570k is alot better performance than the 8350, trust me I have used both. AMD use more cores but they're not as efficient. And there isnt a program that I know that utilizes all 8 cores, except minecraft (if you use java arguments). And for the GPU, its better to get a 760 as they ever so slightly underperform the 7970 and where I live the 7970 is £100 more than the 760.

Might want to check the rendering benchmarks before you give out bad advice man...the 3570k is a good gaming CPU...but it's not a good rendering/encoding CPU. Rendering and encoding programs love more cores. The more cores you throw at a rendering/encoding program, the faster they go.

I have the 8350 as well...and it's not noticeably different in games...and it's markedly better in rendering/encoding/compiling.

If your doing both gaming and rendering then your going to have to go with a CPU that is a quad core minimum but you really need the extra cores when it comes to the rendering part of the equation. Another option that you can consider is to go with a 3770k or 4770k which will give you the Intel instruction set advantage for gaming and Hyperthreading which will give you 8 core threads. The downside to this is price since both these processors will cost over $300.

The 8350 , 8250, 8150 and 8120 are all 8 core processors and all under $200 so another option is to go with an 8120 and save a few more bucks and use it towards a top high end video card or even consider two cards gaming is all about the video card.
