Alright guys, I just finished installing a B75 Pro3-M Mobo and an Intel i5 3470 3.2Ghz into my new build. I'm certain this has been asked before, but after googling around and checking hopefully the right forums here, I have not found a clear answer.

My system doesn't seem to able to boot into my pre-existing windows 7 64bit OS. I am using a 1TB mechanical drive, and I really would prefer not to lose all of my work and documents. Startup Repair does not fix the issue either.

If anyone has a solution that will allow me to boot into my OS without formatting it, that would be great. If you need a list of hardware specs I'll provide that.

My drive is fully functional and is not malfunctioning or broken. I appreciate any replies!

AHEM. Was this pre-existing Windows from a OEM PC (HP, Dell, etc.) or your purchased copy? Second thing, how was the original system configured, RAID? Check the BIOS to make sure it matches the way you had the drive previously set for (IDE, RAID, etc.). Worst case you can access the files either as a secondary drive (not programs) or use a USB to SATA connector to make it a external drive. Check those first

Some of what you said flew past me, I'll answer what I understand.

I have the installation disc I used for Windows 7 64bit. This build was homemade, ordered the parts and all. The previously working system before I attempted to upgrade was an AMD FX4170 and a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard. I do not know what the original settings on the board were before, what I can say is I never changed anything in the BIOS, so whatever settings the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 ATX AM3+ had by default were left unchanged. I don't have access to the manual for that board either as I am in the process of moving.

Is there anything else? I've got the new system booted up and I'm looking at the BIOS of it.
