Hello. First time posting, long time a lurking. I've recently come across an issue with my computer. For a few days I would come home from running an errand and notice my computer had turned itself off. Very strange I thought as I had not changed any power saving settings or the like. Now when I tried to power on my computer it would take maybe 3 tries and it would then behave normally. Then over the course of a week it took progressively more and more attempts before a successful start. Then one day it refused to start all together. Very confusing because previously when I've had components fail, they just fail once and that's it...

Initially I thought it was the HDD so I plugged that into my girlfriend's computer and nope, ran just fine. I then tested the GPU again in my girlfriend's computer, just fine. I continued this process for the PSU and same results. I do not have access to any DDR2 memory to investigate if that is the issue though I've never seen bad RAM create a cmos error.

I tried using the jumper and following the manual's recipe for a cmos reset with no result so naturally I just went and purchased a new battery today and repeated the process a few times, waiting longer each time before restarting.

I guess my question is what the next course of action would be and whether it would be worthwhile to purchase another 775 board or if this is the universe telling me to upgrade.
