Hello guys, I`m building my new PC, and I just need to find a good Graphic Card for it now.

I am mostly playing Guild Wars 2, but I aim to play others games too, like GTA 5, WoW, ecc.

the HD 7950 is 100$ cheaper than the 7970 one, but you can OC it to reach the 7970 levels, or even surpass it.

Thanks guys <3

If you have a cool case you can reach these levels, yet take in consideration the fact that they are two differents GPU, where not only the frequency is important (the second one have more stream processors than 7950). Obviosuly, the perfomance won't be the same with the same clock.

I do have a good case, Corsair Vengeance C70, and a Cooler Master EVO as Heatsink, plus central AC in the house, and Im gonna put the Case on the AC exit :)

I know they wont performance the same, because, of course, they are not the same card, but atleast a 7950 OCed should be able to reach the 7970 easily

Almost any 7950 will match the 7970... you only need to get up to like 1050/1100 MHz to do that, which is not a big overclock for the 7950.

but what`s the best model, because there are many of them? I just need that last piece for my PC.

I personally went with the sapphire HD7950 vapor x OC with boost, it has 2x 8 pin power connectors and specifies a minimum of a 500W power supply. I run it daily at an overclock on the non-boost bios @ 1100mhz core and effective memory clock 5500mhz (1375) with temperatures reaching approx 65c and 61c on the VRM, and a mere 60 - 65c on core while running heavily intensive games such as Skyrim with about 60 graphics and other mods. My benchmark scores with Furmark place my card higher than a stock 7970Ghz with a score of 3491 on 1080p preset 0xaa sampling etc. which is almost the same as cross-fired 6970's!! Games like crysis 3 run all maxed at 1080p60 with no V-sync and motion blur and get between 40 - 70fps, with an average of around 54fps, while battlefield 3 returns around 85fps on max settings. Not sure of what to expect from a PC version of GTA V, I would think that it is inevitable, but with this card you needn't worry about whether or not you can run it, I would expect 1080p60 with most everything maxed based on sleeping dogs performance.

Oh I should also say that I have also tried the Powercolor and XFX 7950's, but to my experience they ran hotter and louder and didn't overclock as well, hence I returned them under warranty and have stuck with this sapphire version and have never looked back ;)

a google search of the vapor-x brings up a lot of praise for this card.

but look around as AMD often have at least 2 free games when you buy the 7900 series cards! Hope this helps
