I have a Phenom II 965 overclocked to 4.0 GHz and a CoolerMaster Seidon 120XL water cooler. When gaming, I never go above 42c, but whenever I wake up my computer from sleep, the fans on the CPU cooler start spinning full bore, and HWMonitor reports my CPU temp as high as 70c before quickly getting back down below 40c.
I feel like this is an issue with the CPU cooler not functioning when the computer is asleep. None of the case fans on my computer case function while the computer is asleep, either, which is expected. Is there a way to get it so my CPU cooler is always running, though? I have the pump hooked into a three pin fan header on the motherboard, and the two fans for the cooler hooked into the four pin CPU fan header on the motherboard.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
