Hey everyone, I have just upgraded my CPU to a 8core 4.0 from a 4core 3.2. After the installation, I tried to reboot my cpu, only to find a black screen and no beeping sounds at start up. My first thought was my motherboard BIOS was outdated, so i began the update process. It ended with the same result.
A tedious journey was ahead of me, unhooking/repluging each piece of hardware then rebooting the computer to see if that had any effect, to find that my ram is the problem. Odd thing, if i take all my sticks out and put them back in the same slots, my cpu will boot normally with all hardware/software working properly. However, now I have a 50/50 chance of my cpu booting with no black screen when I restart. (If i do get a black screen, i take out/place back in my ram, then it works).
What can i do to fix this problem? I would rather not buy new RAM, but if its a must then I have no other choice. Thanks in advance!
