Asus V Gene XMP Profiles Won't Boot!

So I just recently got this Maximus V gene in the mail. Hurray! And being a complete noob at overclocking besides amateur graphic overclocks, I quickly ran into trouble. Booo!

So my first trouble was: hey- I bought this 2400mhz kickass ram and when I load up the XMP profiles (the defaults with nothing other than XMP), it won't boot! I have to give it a reset and it ends up saying the overclock fails. But why? These are the preset settings from the manufacturer unless I'm mistaken.

So I thought to myself: Could it be the onboard graphics? I'm running it through an HDMI cable for the time being, so would I have to change any of the iGPU settings along with XMP profiles in the bios for it to boot with success? Too many options, and even with some random tinkering, still no solution :(

Another problem I ran into is: I bought a 3770k processor, and it limits my overclock potential to multiplier of 43! I've seen many other users with (unknown to me) processors that go over 45. What gives? Does this processor have a 'lock' so to speak?

If anybody can shine some light on these issues it'd go much appreciated. I especially want to get the memory working at a functional 2400mhz. The CPU overclocking isn't the end of the world, but it'd be good to have some more information on it.

Thank you!

And as a side note: I got this mobo because it has Sli/Crossfire capabilities and because it is compatible with Hackintosh (OS X on PC), not just for the overclocking. Just in case anybody wants to question why an amateur overclocker would get this particular board.

Solution
Try booting w/ a single stick in slot 1, if that boots, then check and upgrade he BIOS if needed and the mobo drivers. Updates are constant so what it cam with may well be out of date already. Also what CPU do you have, if a K model, may need a slight OC of CPU to run 2400 and if a locked CPU might not be able to run 2400

I got it like 2 days ago so I would assume it is the latest BIOS. And regardless of chipset drivers, it should be able to boot past a post at least. I didn't even have an OS installed yet. Its purely the BIOS settings I'm sure of it. I just need some help with it!
