gaming with 2 monitors and a vm

so i had an extra monitor lying around and i was wondering if i could set up a vm for one monitor and explore the desktop (with a separate mouse) and play something like WoW in the other. any help would be appreciated :)

Depending on the hypervisor you use you could pass a USB mouse to the VM so you can game and input into the VM on the other mouse. Alternatively if WoW allows it you could run it in a large window, assuming it doesn't lock the cursor.
