Basically... After getting my computer built I installed windows 8 just to check if it worked or not and surely enough it did. Now the seconde I switched on my computer it was a little different. Instead of booting my windows like it was meant too there was a black screen instead. Afterwards it would take me to my bios and that's about it. I've tried pretty much about everything at this point. The only thing I haven't is reinstalling windows so before I do that I just wanted to know of anyone had this problem before and could help me out.

Edit: I've tried reseting bios and manually booting my hardrives and it still won't run windows. It shows me my post bios screen with thw blinking lines then takes me straight to uefi bios.

Additional information: windows 8 was meant to be installed, I have a 3tb seagate barracuda and a 120gb samsung 840 ssd and an asus z87 sabertooth

Thanks in advance.

Windows should have been installed in AHCI Mode to best use your SSD, so the answer probably lies in the Boot Menu. Your Manual can be downloaded here
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z87/#support_Download_36
Chapter 3 deals with the Boot Menu, its vast! Try enabling CSM, enable/disable Secure Boot etcetera, a setting here could be preventing your machine from booting... You'll probably have to enable Advanced Mode to see all the options...

Hello

Sorry to hear that you are unable to boot into windows, will you tell me what is the current sata mode set in your bios?
If it is set to achi then it won't boot, coz it requires additional drivers. Change it to IDE then your windows should boot fine.

If still not, then it maybe something to do with uefi...
