7950 vs 7870

Solution
7870 ghz edition? or XT?

If ghz edition: Yes you have an upgrade but a little one, imho don't buy the new one :)
if XT: yes, you have a very little upgrade because XT series uses GCN core like 7900 seires

In both case i suggest to not buy this upgrade, even more so if you play @1080p :)

Buying a HD7950 when you have an HD7870 is not a good option. If you're running at 1080p, a single HD7870 should perform fairly well in most games. If you're wanting a major upgrade I'd say buy another HD7870 and crossfire it, with the advances that AMD is making with frame pacing crossfire is becoming a better solution than it once was.
